One of the biggest obstacles between me and progress is the lack of action. This can be because of paralysis by analysis. Or having too many things that I want to work on, and then ending up scrolling on social media.
I think the problem mostly lies in not knowing what the largest obstacle is that is in the way of progress. The solution is actually quite simple.
- Sit down with a pen blank piece of paper, or a notebook;
- Start writing down a list of what I want to achieve today (do not get tempted to write about dreams and long-term goals);
- Prioritize the list;
- For the #1 goal on the list, write a list of things that I can execute and finish in a short time frame, let’s say 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour;
- Some suggest also prioritizing the to-do list. I wouldn’t go this far. Just start hacking down on things to do. At the end of the day, you will be a step closer to your dreams, and you’ve actually made something happen.
Remember, just with anything in life: if you want to achieve something, you actually have to do something. Don’t be a dreamer. Be a do-er.
