INHOUDSOPGAVE

It’s very rare for us to spend a Sunday at home. Either we are working or visiting friends or family. Today, we stayed at home. Only my cousin Nong came by to briefly visit us. Why don’t we have more of these days?

Well, some Sundays we are at the markets. Other Sundays, we still have some work to do at our Thais Tafelen HQ. When we don’t have any work related things on Sunday, we visit friends or family. Even if we have a free day, we somehow end up on a spontaneous trip. But today, we were at home. What a relief.

In the morning, we could wake up slowly. Ollie stayed in bed until 10.30. Pretty nice for an almost 6-month-old baby. Mandy was able to read a book in the morning, and we had a nice cup of coffee. We even had time to eat out for lunch and do some grocery shopping for dinner. From 14.00 to 15.30 my cousin came by. The rest of the time, Ollie was asleep, and Mandy and I had time to do our own thing.

Together, at the dinner table. A big pot of tea in the middle. Mandy is working on a photo album. I am working on my laptop. Searching, fixing, browsing things that were on my mind. Even though we only had two and a half hours to do our own thing, it felt like a whole day. This is clearly what we need more of in the future.

Mandy and I made a pact. Let’s have more of these days at home. Soon, in our new home, it will be easier to invite friends over to our house. Without having to go outdoors, and with enough space at home, hopefully we can spend even more than just one day a week at home.
