INHOUDSOPGAVE

I think good, and even the best, ideas come when you do ordinary things without distraction. Driving, doing the dishes, pooping, etc. This morning, while driving to work, I had a great idea for today’s story. The sad thing is that I only remember that it was something nice to talk about.

The subject was something I thought of before. So, for sure, I would remember by the time I was ready to write. For your info, I always write just before I go to bed (the current time is 00:12). Well. Now I’m sitting down, but I just can’t remember what I wanted to write about.

What I also remember is that I had a small meeting in my head. Weeri the Wise thought it was a good idea to write the idea down immediately. Maybe even keep a list of ideas. On the other side of the imaginary table was Wacky Weeri. Who was full of confidence that I would, for sure, remember.

To my defence, I was driving. So writing down any thoughts in a notebook was impossible. Maybe I could record a voice message to myself? That would require me to archive my thoughts correctly. But at least I would have a reminder of my failing memory.

I feel that currently we are at a point where I could just tell my phone AI about my idea and let it archive it in a place where I keep all my ideas. Including a reminder to write a story. In the future, we might even have a chip in our heads so that AI can “read our minds”. Technology-wise, that would be incredible. Psychology-wise, I have my doubts about the positive impact on humans as a species.

Anyway, for now, my phone is still stuck on useless Siri. The other option is to just keep a notebook.
